Aca estan algunas de las fotos de nuestro picnic de despedida en el Vondelpark con familia y amigos en Amsterdam. gracias a todos por estar alli, fue lindisimo verlos a todos . Y gracias a quienes no pudieron ir pero nos ecribieron y nos mandaron su carino.

Escribo hoy todavia desde Holanda, ahora msimo desde el tren, volviendo desde Vries, donde vive la mama de Harry y su hermana. Volvemos a Amsterdam a una cena de despedida con nuestros vecinos y algunos amigos.
Aca Harry aprovechando cada minuto, en el tren arreglando las bicis e instalandole cosas nuevas.

Harry esta como loco con millones de cosas por hacer: organizando encuentros y diciendo Adios y gracias otra vez, a nuestros sponsors, pero mayormente preparando su website , desde donde va a seguir tarbajando con sus expediciones on line y el nuevo desde donde vamos a ir escribiendo sobre nuestro viaje.
Aparte de su trabajo corriente y algunos mas atrasados desde que estuvimos en Mayo y Junio en Tanzania ! Si increible pero si estuvimos acompanando una expedicion de estudiantes al Kilimanjaro, tratando de establecer unps proyectos para plantar arboles y reforestar algunas areas, viendo los animales salvajes en sus habitats naturales, conociendo gente lindisima, lugares increibles y todo junto ha sido una gran experiencia, solo que tan cerquita del viaje a Alaska, y teniendo que preveer todo para estar 2 o 3 agnos fuera de Holanda, ha sido demasiado y es normal que ahora el tiempo no nos alcance para nada.
La casa de Romke y Anouk, no no estaban en casa cuando hicimos todo este despliegue, y quedo como si no hubiera pasado nada cuando volvieron. de alguna manera todo eso entro en nuestras alforjas.

Pero vamos a tratar de hacer lo posible y lo imposible para terminar con lo mas importante y resignar lo que no podamos hacer.
Ya que son muchas cosas por hacer, pero las que vamos haciendo van saliendo bien y estamos felices de tener pasajes para Fairbanks, para el 10 de julio. Julio es tarde para empezar a pedalear en Alaska, pues el invierno nos va a alcanzar de pleno en Estados Unidos y vamos a tener que jugarle carreras al frio, pero no habia forma de partir antes, si hemos llegado el 19 de junio a Amsterdam desde Africa.
Si hay algo que me encantaria hacer justo ahora, es descansar , estar en un mismo lugar, mejor en casa, por lo menos por un mes. Es que siento que recien llegamos, de las 6 semanas en Tanzania, y me siento muy cansada … , creo que tambien es la combinacion con los nervios, que lleva dejar la seguridad de la vida cotidiana, y prepararnos para algo un poco desconocido , como va a ser estar casi 3 agnos en la ruta con solo nuestras bicis. Pero como ya les conte no es momento de descansar, el frio va a llegar pronto y tenemos que empezar y pedalear rapido para estar lo mas lejos del polo para cuando llegue el invierno al hemisferio norte.
Y esto es lo que estoy hacienda ahora, preparandonos y poniendonos listos. En tres dias mas, no vamos a tener que preocuparnos mas sobre que cosas llevar y cuales dejar, porque son muchas o muy pesadas, o sobre las cosas que nos gustaria haber hecho pero no tenemos tiempo.
Vamos a estar alli con las cosas que hemos elegido y tenemos y podemos cargar. ( eso espero) y vamos a empezar a pedalear nuestro sueno a traves de las Americas…
Dejando atras el confort de las casas de nuestros querida familia y amigos …( nuestros amigos y familia que nos han hospedado generosamente y con tdoo el carino en sus casa lso ultimos meses que la neustra estaba ya alquilada); vamos a pedalear a descubrir lugares maravillosos, nuevos amigos, nuevos desafios, muchas veces un nuevo mundo con diferentes culturas que esperamso nos toquen, transformen y muevan en acciones para ser parte de ellas.
Vamos a darle al mundo un gran abrazo y el nos va dar el major regalo que puede darnos, sus tesoros, naturaleza, cuatro estacioens, vida salvaje, viento y sol, millones de estrellas, montanas y playas, desiertos y selvas y la libertad de dejarnos recorrerlo y sentirlo …
Vamos a poder ver los problemas que nuestro mundo esta pasando debido al calentamiento global y todas sus consecuencias, debido al abuso que los humanos hemos hecho en el planeta; pero vamso en busqueda de esperanza y a encontrar miles d epersonas que esta trabajando para encontrar soluciones y ponerlas en practica. Vamos a poner lo major de nosostros para ser parte de esas soluciones y ayudar a esparcir y dar a conocer sobre esos nuevos proyectos que encontraremos en el camino …
Me siento tan agradecida por la oportinidad preciosa de poder iniciar este viaje, por toda la gente que nos ha ayudado tanto con los preparativos y todo lo que necesitabamos para poder organizarnos. Y sabemos que van a haber cientos mas de personas que vamos a conocer en el camino ; y a vos que nos estas acompanando ahora mismo leyendonos y dandonos un empujoncito mas para poder comenzar. Porque hoy estamos un poco de tantas cosas por hacer, pero la ruta nos llama y este maravilloso mundo nos espera y tenemos que subirnos a las bicis y empezar !!

We are still here in Amsterdam, right now in a train coming back from Vries, where Harry ‘s mother and sister live; and going to Amsterdam to have dinner with our old flat- mate and the neighbors ….
Harry is getting crazy with millions of things to do, most of them organizing meetings and good byes with sponsors, and mostly preparing and building a new web site and working with bookings and putting new programmes in the new little laptop we got .
But even if we are really tired things are going quite well , and we are happy with our plane ticket to Fairbanks for the 10 th of july . Really late for Alaska and going north, but we wouldn’t be ready before.
If there ‘s something I would love to do right now , is just rest and stay in the same city ( at home better) at least for one month.., just coming from Tanzania where we were for 6 weeks, we are very,very tired ; but .. we have to go and cycle faster in Alaska.. because cold weather will come soon , and we ‘ll need to be far from the pole…
So that’ what we are doing right now getting ready we have 3 days more and then we wont need anymore to worry about what things to take or about the things we didn’t had time to do. We will be there with the things we choose we got, and we can carry ( hopefully) ; and we ‘ ll start pushing our bikes into a dream trip across the Americas …
Leaving behind the comfort of the houses ( our friend ‘s house that hosted us the last months, our beloved friends and families we ‘ll cycle to discover new wonderful places, new friends, new challenges, many times a new world with different cultures that we hope is going to change us, to move us into actions to be part of that.
We ‘ll going to give to the world a big hug he will give us the best gift he can give us all his treasures, nature , freedom, seasons, wildlife, wind and sun, million of stars, mountains and beach, deserts and jungles… and the freedom to let us go …
We ‘ll see the problems the world is facing because of the global warming, and the abuse of the humans on the earth , but we ‘ll find hope in the thousands of people that is working to make it feel better.. We ‘ll do our best to be a part of the solutions and help to spread the projects we ‘ll find on the way …
I feel so grateful for this trip we can do, and for all the people that already help us. And we know that there will be a lot more people that we ‘ll meet on the way to all of them and to you that are with us right now all our love and the best.
We are tired right now but the road is calling the beautiful world is there waiting and we ‘ ll go to cycling it. See you soon, from the road !
Hi everybody sorry for not write much, I was little busy. As you know we are preparing everything for our trip to Alaska by bikes, but in between, Harry and Ivana, seems cant stay in the same places for more than weeks.
I ‘ve been in 5 different continents in only 6 months… America, Australia, Europe, Asia and Africa.
We were in December from Amsterdam, to Argentina: Buenos Aires y San juan.
In January from Argentina, to Chile and Peru: Lima, Cusco, Machu Pichu, Puno and Lake Titicaca.
In February I went with Harry to Australia, To Sydney, Mt Kosciuszko, Canberra and more… on the way to Australia, we stop in Kuala Lumpur in Malasia and stay for a few days.
In March we came back home to Amsterdam to meet Ivana and work for a while.
In the beginning of April we got the new bikes from Santos and we were testing them and going everywhere in them, mostly in Amsterdam and Vries, with Harry ‘s mum.

In April also … yes we leave again, to Istanbul , Turkey this time… to do eyes laser operations in the 6 of our eyes … ( only for 5 days and back home).. crazy .. yes I think the same .. but at least we can see right now 100 % and will be great on the bikes to see everything …
Finally on May we left to Tanzania, yes to Africa. We were in Zanzibar in the beach, in Dar es Salaam with friends; we were in many Safaris national parks, and saw so many wild animals; we climbed Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, with 26 students and teachers from Kentucky – USA,
and we even got engaged on the summit of Kilimanjaro.
We went back home the 19 th of June … So you wont be surprise to know that Harry and Ivana are running like crazyes and making a big mess in our friend’s house trying to have everything ready and pack on the bicycles for the 10 th of July , when we’ll fly to Alaska, Fairbanks, where I hope the weather will be very cold as seems to be and enjoying to ride the bikes, and finally have some holidays because I’ m getting little tired.
It ‘s a little hard life for a small penguin like me, don’t you think so ?
